The test has the ability to detect the presence or absence of the male Y chromosome in your bloodstream, so if the Y chromosome is detected, you’re having a boy. If not, your baby’s sex is female. You’re able to learn the sex of your child before you can see images from an ultrasound scan! Many families who are eager to know the sex of their unborn child ask us when they should have a gender determination ultrasound. Here at Sweet Baby Face, you can come into our ultrasound clinic as early as 15 weeks into your pregnancy. If you are wanting to keep the sex a secrete for a gender reveal party, we recommend having your ultrasound at least a week before your party. That way, if the baby doesn’t cooperate, you’ll have time to reschedule. Via ultrasound is very accurate (around 99%), but we can’t ever guarantee the gender of your baby 100%.
